Cultural Programming Committee
The Cultural Programming Committee is responsible for designing and developing educational and cultural initiatives for promoting knowledge and understanding of Dorchester’s rich and complex community history and experience, and working with the Fundraising Committee to determine and secure the necessary resources to meet this goal.
Educational and cultural initiatives may include projects designed to speak to a variety of demographics, including all education levels, neighborhoods, ethnicities, etc. For example, in collaboration with local teachers, a primary or high school curriculum could be developed based upon themes evoked by Edward Everett Square art. Collaboration with local universities may produce a body of scholarship that provides fresh insight into local history and ignites dynamic debate on the nature and experience of the community and the processes that have shaped community life in the present.
